Broadside x Gooserbat
Old Thunder: 25 Sycamore Pot calls, Designed by Broadside, Handcrafted by Sam Pharr.
What is Old Thunder?
Old Thunder is the tangible result of a desire for a call that blended a modern look and feel with the timeless art, craft, and patriotism that turkey hunting embodies.
It is our interpretation of how we believe our hunting gear and our craft should be portrayed and made-carefully crafted with the backing of experience, premium sound and functionality, and presented with pride.
Twenty-five calls. One maker. Our first step.
Sam Pharr — Gooserbat Game Calls
Sam Pharr founded Gooserbat Game Calls in 2009, building a business around a lifelong connection to turkey hunting. Over the years, hunters in the turkey-calling community have shared positive feedback about Gooserbat calls, often pointing to their sound and consistency, as well as Sam's willingness to work with customers.
For Old Thunder, Sam brought his experience to a custom sycamore pot call made for Broadside's first release. Each call was made individually by same, backed by years of experience. We're proud to have his work behind the product.
Each call is built from quarter-sawn sycamore and tuned with Argentina Black Slate over glass, crafted and signed by Sam Pharr, allowing for a warm, hollow low-end tone and a crisp, high-frequency front-end bite.
We aimed to create a unique call that only we can offer that looks as beautiful as it sounds.

Our Mission
Tradition, Carried Forward.
Hunting is built on more than equipment. It is built on craftsmanship, hard-earned knowledge, and the traditions passed from one generation to the next.
The tools we take into the field should reflect that legacy. They must deliver the sound, control, and reliability a hunter can trust when the moment matters. They should perform with purpose, inspire pride in the hands that carry them, and honor the skill of the people who make them.
At Broadside, we believe honoring tradition does not mean standing still. It means finding better ways to celebrate the craft, support the people behind it, and deliver products that meet the demands of the hunt and an experience worthy of the pursuit.
From the performance of the call itself to the way it is crafted every detail should have a purpose. Quality is not simply how a product looks or feels. It is how it sounds, how it performs, and the pride it carries.
Broadside Gear Co. - Rooted in tradition. Refined for today.
